New Kitten Care Tips

You have just adopted the most adorable kitten or you are thinking about it. Cats make wonderful pets, they show love unconditionally. Once you have made this decision you are probably going to want to provide the best care possible. Here are some great kitten care tips:
  • Be sure to feed Kitten Food, no adult cat food
  • Consider feeding a premium food such as Royal Canin
  • Variety is a good thing so try to feed your kitten both wet and dry food
  • Provide privacy and time to adjust, this can usually be accomplished by finding a small quiet area with food and water available at all times
  • Play time can be a good time to bond with your new kitten, set time aside to spend with your new family member
  • Establish grooming and dental care now to get your kitten use to the routine
  • Cat chew toys can be great for kittens because they can teeth up to 8 months old
  • Set ground rules, cat toys provide diversions but when you see your kitten being naughty a firm "no" usually stops the act because kittens are sensitive to tone of voice.
  • Take your kitten to their first vet visit, its never too soon to have your kitten checked out. Regular visits are recommended for the health of your cat.

Common cat supplies you might need for your kitten are a cat automatic waterer, cat bed, cat food bowl, litter box and litter, cat carrier, cat toys, cat scratcher, cat treats, cat brush, and cat nail trimmers.

SuppliesJust4Pets.com encourages you to visit local animal shelters and/or rescue groups when looking to adopt a new pet.
